FYI presenter Ruby

FYI is a weekly news show, presented entirely by kids. It aims to answer the big questions about news, current affairs and politics. Every fortnight FYI hosts Junior Prime Minister’s Questions, where Theresa May answers questions sent in by viewers. Watch the latest episode on First News – and meet FYI presenter Ruby, below.

Ruby

Hi, my name’s Ruby, I’m 12 years old and I’m from North Yorkshire. And I’m a reporter for FYI. I lve dancing and gymnastics. I’ve recently done a show, where I did a tribal dance and a Michael Jackon remix – that was one of my favourites.

Favourite sport
My favourite sports are going to have to be gymnastics and netball.

Favourite band or singer
I recently went to see Little Mix perform – it was so good.

Unusual habit
I’ve got a bit of an unusual one. I like to watch my tablet upside down. I like catch up on online videos, trends that are going on – upside down, though!

Embarrassing or funny moment
The thing that pops into my mind is a couple of weeks ago me and my friends were doing spins in the yard. I was doing my triple spin and I decided to fall over on my bum – in front of everyone.

What annoys me
The things that really annoy me are litter. And if you go down the street, you’ll find lots of poo in the floor, and that annoys me as well because it’s really smelly, especially if you stand on it. And the seagulls around Scarborough are a nightmare – they steal your chips and your ice cream!

If I ruled the world…
If I =had the ability to change something, I would probably change wars, make people not argue, make people be nice to each other. Make everyone just live in one world where everyone is really kind to each other.

Why FYI?
I think the thing that really excites me about FYI is the chance for us all to learn about the the things that are going on, and to have our say – not be taught by boring adults!

FYI is a co-production with Sky Kids.
